Luther Hall Science Lab is located at Concordia University, a private, Christian university in Portland. Opened in 1905 as a University-preparatory school, the institution added college classes in 1950 and the high school was split-off in 1977. The project included retrofitting three science labs on two floors of an existing building. HVAC work was extensive, including the addition of steel reinforcement to support the units. The project scope also called for completing plumbing and electrical redesign; finishing new cabinetry, flooring, doors and doorways; glasswork; roofing; and updating fire suppression upgrades to code.
Mark Matthews and Pacificmark Construction brought a level of understanding and sensitivity to a complex project to help craft a space that will really inspire future scientists, physicians and nurses for many years. We appreciated the community focus and their ability to get the job done right the first time.
